HandPicked Nation Dollar DayHandPicked Nation will be in the market to promote awareness of the Farmer's Market shopping experience for kids age 6-14. Kids sign up to receive HandPicked Nation Dollars redeemable at each of the participating farmer's booths. They'll document what the kids buy through video, stills and interviews and post it on HandPicked Nation.

Jam Making Demonstration and Tasting with Jammer Julia Sforza of Half-Pint Preserves.
Julia will go over the basics of canning berry jams from berry prep to ladling hot jam in jars and then processing in a boiling water bath to make them last until the cold winter. There is nothing like opening a jar of jewel-toned local berry jam in the dead of February. Make sure you capture the local season this summer!

Gold Hope Duo - Stripped down upbeat Rhythm & Blues, Country, folk and a pinch of Rockabilly, The Gold Hope Duo is a joint effort between front-persons Lara Hope and Matt "The Knife" Goldpaugh. Lara strums the guitar while Matt slaps the Upright Bass or picks the 5 String Banjo. They share percussion duties with their fast feet and live by the motto "If you can't do it, kazoo it!" Ukranian Pysanky Egg Decorating with Sophia Puccio – Watch Sophia demonstrate this beautiful craft of traditional Ukranian folk designs painted on eggs using beeswax.

Music:

Gravikord Duo - Bob Grawi and Pip Klein present an instrumental musical performance that is a celebration of our culture in melodies and polyrhythms. Grawi plays his invention, the Gravikord, a 24-string electric double harp inspired by the African kora with Pip Klein on flute and percussion. Their music is a new-folk-chamber-jazz style that is upbeat and joyful and refuses to be pinned down in any way. The couple has performed at dozens of public and private venues around the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Venice Italy Carnevale. www.gravikord.com

Rhinebeck Village Tree Commission – A volunteer group established by the 2009 Tree Preservation Law to protect and maintain street trees and trees on public lands in the Village of Rhinebeck. Stop by find out more about the law, and how to get street trees pruned or removed when in bad shape.
